This is part of the "Encyclopedia" series that I've been working on continuously. This time, it's a series on intelligent and beautiful sheepdogs!

Throughout the long history of humans and dogs, the existence of "dogs that protect sheep" has been considered very important. It is said that remains where sheep and dog bones were buried together date back to 3500 BC. So, sheep and dogs have been together since such ancient times.

In this series, we introduce sheepdogs with a rich history, from breeds commonly kept in Japan like Collies and Shepherds, to more niche breeds that have developed in various regions and under various conditions. While beloved and cute dogs are wonderful, there's something about the image of a dog working diligently at the tasks given by humans that evokes a pure kind of bond, making them look very lively. We have compiled these intelligent and beautiful sheepdogs, featuring one breed per page, with a total of 73 breeds.
