従来のステンレス芯は滑りがよく、減りにくいことから多くの方にご愛用いただいております。しかし、唯一懸念されるのが、落下や強い衝撃によりペン軸内の磁石が破損するという事象です。通常の使用では問題ないことですが、ステンレスの硬さが磁石に悪い影響があると考えられます。

特に第2世代チップセンサー搭載機（intuos4世代以降）はステンレス芯の使用有無に関わらず、壊れやすいといわれています。

そこで、ステンレス芯の良い所を残したまま、壊れにくい芯が作れないかと考えました。できれば純正の替え芯よりも壊れないもので。

そして完成したのがハイブリッド芯です。
